A Vacation Planning Tip
Humpback Whales  Will Arrive Soon
Humpback whale season generally runs from December through March or April in Hawaii, although there are occasional sightings during other months.  Many thousands of humpback whales winter in Hawaii each year.  They come from Alaska to give birth to their young and mate.  The number of whales and how active they are varies from year to year and there didn't seem to be as many whales this year as last.  But, there were still plenty of them to see and they were very active in breaching and slapping their tails and fins.  Sightings are infrequent now because the you calves are old enough to begin their trip to Alaska.
